Recent Events @6

Recently, due to the impact of the new coronavirus pneumonia, most people who can stay at home are staying at home. As for people like me who can't stay at home and have to go to work, there's nothing I can do. In addition, the control measures in Quzhou are becoming stricter. For example, entering and exiting residential areas requires an entry and exit permit (regardless of whether it's a person or a vehicle), and body temperature needs to be measured when entering and exiting residential areas or units (wearing a mask is a must). Although it's troublesome, it's very effective to see that there have been no new confirmed cases in the past few days. Currently, most companies are required to resume work on February 10th, so the roads are not as crowded as usual. I estimate that the road conditions will gradually return to normal after work resumes next Monday.

Due to the strict control measures recently, it's a bit difficult to find food. Apart from eating in the company cafeteria, I can only eat at home (there are not many options for delivery, and I can't enter the residential area. I have to pick it up at the entrance of the residential area, which takes away the motivation to order delivery). I saw online that the cooking skills of the homebodies have improved recently (it's really difficult to stay at home. For the first time in my life, I realized what it's like to lie in bed and contribute to the country without going out). But recently, work is not busy, and most of the time it's quite empty. It's like half rest and half work. It's nice to be able to chat at work (although through masks), it's better than staying at home every day and feeling bored.

Perhaps because work is not busy recently, I thought about tinkering with this "one acre three-point land". Because the domain name with a .win suffix cannot be filed, and the hosting was a coupon from Tencent Cloud at that time, I switched to a Hong Kong host. Originally, it was directly resolved to the IP, which felt a bit too direct. Shouldn't it be more indirect and use a CDN (if there are other ways, please enlighten me)? Domain names without filing cannot be used with CDN nodes in China (many domain names without filing cannot be used). There was no way, so I had to use CloudFlare (hereinafter referred to as CF). Originally, CF could only be DNS-connected, but through a third party, Cname could be used, so I used Bennis's method. Later, I saw online that it is possible to directly resolve to the specific node IP of CF (because for domestic access, the default node IP provided by CF is in the US West, and the speed...). After a lot of tinkering, it worked well, but after a few days of trial, I felt that the network speed was not as fast as when it was directly resolved to Hong Kong (did I make a mistake?). So now I'm hesitating whether to switch back...

Perhaps it's because I'm not too busy recently, so I thought about flashing the Xiaomi Mix 2S that I bought before the Chinese New Year (fortunately, I bought it before, otherwise... even if I want to buy it, I may not be able to get it). When I got it, it had the MIUI 11 system, which was working fine. I didn't want to mess with it, but now I'm idle, so I thought about flashing a new ROM. To downgrade the new system, I had to unlock the bootloader. Before unlocking, I made a backup of the phone and copied it to the computer (unlocking will erase the phone). I downloaded the system I wanted to flash (I initially downloaded MIUI V9.5.10), and the process of flashing the ROM went very smoothly. After restoring the backup, I found that the neat desktop layout had become messy. Is the desktop layout incompatible with different versions of the system? After the recovery, I tried it out and found that V9.5.10 was not as comfortable as V11 (what a disaster...). As a result, within 2 hours of trying it out, it updated online to V10.0.3.0. Although the V10 version is not as comfortable as V11 (regret...), I still want to use it for a few days and see. If worse comes to worst, I can upgrade it later. Upgrading is convenient and doesn't require unlocking the bootloader or anything like that...
