In our daily work, we may encounter situations where Word does not open. So, how should we solve this problem? Below, I will introduce two simple and very useful methods to quickly restore everyone to normal working conditions.
Symptoms of Word not opening: When double-clicking to run Word, it does not open, and a window pops up with the message: "Microsoft Office Word has encountered a problem and needs to close. We apologize for any inconvenience caused." There are two options: "Send error report" and "Don't send." If you choose "Don't send," the Word program will automatically close, and then when you run Word again, it will ask "Do you want to start Word in safe mode?" If you choose "Yes," it will enter "Safe Mode." In this mode, Word will only display a blank window, and you need to manually open a document to display it. If you choose "No," Word will pop up this dialog box again, creating a continuous loop.
What to do if Word does not open? Solution:
One of the solutions to open Word documents:
Step 1: This file is generally located on the system disk, which is the C drive. The folder is hidden, so we must first "show hidden files." Double-click to open "My Computer," click on "Tools" in the menu bar --> "Folder Options" --> View, uncheck "Hide protected operating system files (Recommended)," then check "Show hidden files, folders, and drives," and click OK.
Step 2: Open the path: C and SettingsAdministratorapplication datamicrosofttemplates, you will see two files, delete "Normal."
Finally, try reopening Word to see if it can start normally.
Another solution for Word document not opening:
Step 1: When prompted with "Do you want to start Word in safe mode," choose "Yes";
Step 2: Once inside, go to "File" in the menu bar --> New;
Step 3: Then, click on "On my computer" in the "New Document" section on the right side;
Step 4: Delete "Blank Template" and confirm.
Run Word again, and it should return to normal.
